Hello and a warm Celtic from Boston, Massachusetts.
You do not have to be a Scot or have Scot Ancestry to wear the kilt. There are many "universal" tartans. USA Kilts (upper left) has a tartan called American heritage that is handsome and great to wear. i have a kilt in that tartan in the semi-traditional style. It even looks good for formal (black tie) occasions.
Check out all the sponsors here. You will get great customer service, and a chance to see many tartans.
Just wear the one you like.

There is a Swedish Tartan. You can see it here >> http://www.tartanregister.gov.uk/tar....aspx?ref=5959

Welcome to the forum, from Norway.
As Spartan says, there is a Swedish tartan but it is not a tartan that any retailers have in stock. So you have to get it specially woven, and that is fairly expensive. This goes for me to, wanting a kilt in a Norwegian tartan. We have several Norwegian tartans but no fabric in stock. An alternative is to look for another tartan that have colors matching the swedish colors.
