    The Art of Kiltmaking sets the waist to the shortest strap hole so there is room for expansion. Which is usually the case with most kilt wearers.

    If you want to make the kilt fit better, move the underapron strap and the over apron's buckle the same amount.

    Yes I'll move the buckle, but this will lead to even more asymmetrical position of loops. Usually I don't use them, but I put them on the kilt in the beginning and I intend to leave them on; you never know. This means I'll move one loop to make them symmetrical, while moving the buckle.
