I'm not sure if this option was already given on this forum, but still better twice (or more times) then non.
Lately I was looking my kilt which was used quit often and I noticed that apron has "grayish" look when comparing to pleats and underapron. Sure, underapron is well protected and pleats are receiving a lot of rubbing while sitting. But apron is just perfect spot for dust and dirt to settle on. I was thinking what to do (besides washing it) and remembered good old brush used for brushing my other garments (suites). Just brushing would give very little effect and I gave quick wash under the tap water to the brush prior doing anything on the kilt. I shook off the surplus water and did a test brushing on the apron. The difference was really noticeable. To be sure, I even wait for apron to dry completely and made one photo for you to see the difference.
See for yourself, I think no need to say which part was cleaned:
I did this on the whole apron and now it looks like new.
