Our local Lowe's had a belt similar to this for $19.87. I would get me one but I'm going to check the vendors at this weekend's Texas Scottish Festival and see what they have first.

Sears & Lowe's both carry an excellent brown oiled-leather work belt that is 3" wide, and makes an excellent (casual or daywear) belt. Lowe's carries one up to a 45" waist, and Sears has one up to a 56" waist. I have the one from Lowe's and it goes very nicely with a medium-to-dark brown day leather sporran.

I bought one very similar to that and 3 inches wide from Mat Newsome at the Tartans Museum 2 years ago.

Col., Tandy doesn't carry anything wider than 1.75" for "ready to stamp/dye/wear". If you let the staff there know what you are wanting, they should be able to help you out. They may try to get you to buy a half side or a shoulder split, but that's about the only way to get material for wide belts.

    large belt

I went to tack shop and got a belt made from a saddle girth. 2.75 x 0.25 thick.
This is a belt that will last and heavy to boot.

For a really nice belt, go with the Oconee Leather Works belt. No one makes better stuff than Steve.

For inexpensive very casual day wear, go to Lowes or Home Depot and get a work belt. They're tough and will last forever.

A really nice belt like the ones Steve makes will cost you some coins, but they'll last forever, too. And they are really nice.

When you decide and get one--or more--we require that you post a photo. It's a rule, you know.
