Welcome aboard. You can see from the Wizard of BC's answer just how cool this site is.
And--as usual--the Wiz proves his worth and why we all love him. I appreciate your information, Wiz, and I am glad to share space with folks like you.

Hello and another warm Celtic from New England. Who let a W.A.C.K.O. into New Hampshire anyway?
The Wizard is right in that you do not need to belong to a clan, or have Scot ancestry to wear a kilt. Though your surname is Beck, you may have ancestry through the wives of your "Beck" ancestors. I get my lineage to the Clan MacNeil through my mother, not through my surname of Brown(e), seemingly to be of early British origin at this point.
If you perusae the websites of our advertisers, including of course Scotweb and Freedom Kilts, you will find a wealth of kilt options. Every sponsor on this site has great customer service. With the Wizard, just do not get between him and the coffee urn.
Welcome to our forum and the kilted rabble.
