    Talking

Kilts and inebriated women ! Two great tastes that go great together!
I've had a few drunk gals get really persistant like that, my wife generally steps in before I get in too much trouble.

Which is why I wear a police badge as a kilt pin. I just ask them if they would like to spend the night in jail on sexual harassment charges. If that doesn't work, just grab their arm and push away. Just don't let their significant other see you do that. If there is a problem, I then ask, if the have ever gaotten the but kicled by a 68 year old man in a skirt. that usually calms the situation. Drunks will be drunks. that is why I drink at home. Good Luck.

Seems, drunk or sober, women are much more likely to approach us when we're kilted. I've never had the friendly comments when wearing slacks..."Nice pants!" Just doesn't happen. No woman has ever asked if I'm wearing underwear when I have jeans on.

My one kilt check was at a booze infested venue - Pride in the Pines in Flagstaff. A very drunk (could hardly stand) college-age gay kid gave it a shot. I just turned away from it and he was too blitzed to do anything but stagger off.

From what I've read on this board over the years the most likely spot we're gonna get comments or kilt checked is in a venue where the booze is flowing.

Yes, alcohol has a way of making people stupid...

So- onto the topic at hand! I personally have my wife write in big green marker "Kiss me" on one cheek and "I'm Irish" on the other- just in case.

I had that happen once... I figured- fine, if that's how you want to play it... I went all Braveheart on her.

I had a guy in a bar ask me the question once. I looked at his girlfriend and said "Hers. Would you like them back?" And walked away.

That's one of the nice things about being me... I have very little dignity, and even less boundary! If she show me hers... Well, it's only fair!

Ya, I used to work at a bar, and have seen drunken behavior get way out of hand very quickly. That's why I don't drink.
I really don't know that there is anything you can do other than avoiding the situation or staying out of the way.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Most of my most memorable run-ins with drunks have been with those - the yunguns 'specially. That's not to say that the fellers haven't done their share - it's just that the gals have let loose in the most unexpected ways.

I would have responded to that by saying "Yes, but I didn't ask".

The fact that some people don't want to be touched or gawked at in such a way. Let her find someone else who is willing.

Exactly. Wise words from a wise woman.

I have been checked a few times and as time passes I am more able to keep my calm. I figure it is an "occupational hazard" in wearing the kilt.

According to Verbal Social Skills and/or Mood:
    1. Charm her/bond with her. Get her on your side. [Preferred.]
    2. Attempt 1 above. Disengage if unsuccessful. [50/50 chance.]
    3. Make allies or create separation. [Common.]
    4. Retreat. [Wisdom.]
    5. You are crazier than she is. Scare her halfway sober. [Fun but risky.]
    6. Fight. You'll get one call to your attorney. I know--she was in the wrong. Good luck with that. [Naive.]
