Organizations and Sanctioning Bodies
While reading and absorbing as much as I can to prepare, I've come across different groups. I've seen NASGA, SSAAA, SHAG, and others. SSAAA and SHAG are membership groups. Does one have to be a member of these groups to participate in games they sanction? Its a bit confusing cause none of them specifically spell this out, but I read some things that made me think they did. I did read that NASGA is only there for record keeping. That they are not a membership "club".
Should I join one of these groups?

You just "pay up" for each individual Games that you want to throw at, though how it works outside the US West Coast, I'm not sure. Around here, SHA "members" are just the guys who throw a lot and help out. We all pony up for each Game, individudally, there is no actual "mebmership". Ditto for the SAAA, I believe.
Joining NASGA is literally filling out an online form which gives you access to post to the database and the forum, that's about it.
