After some discussion between the moderating staff, and a request from the membership, it has been decided to reopen the thread. I do this cautiously as we have seen in this thread already, politics can creep in. Please remember our rule regarding political discussion. Lets keep this one the way it was intended. There will be no more warnings and no more reprieves for this thread, it will simply be deleted, if it goes down the political road again, next time it will not be back. Please feel free to post photos you may have of the duke in a kilt.
Here are a few more photos

Just a suggestion.... why not declare this a "picture only" thread (like a few others before have been, such as Vintage Photos, etc), and simply go through a delete any post that does not contain a picture of HRH (which would include this one!).
I think he's a great example of how to wear Highland attire and it's been wonderful to have so many good photos of him so dressed all in one place. It' be a shame to loose that. And as the photos are really the meat of this thread, just get rid of all the other comments. No need to throw out the baby with the bath water!

And... is there a precedence anywhere for the way the PoW wears his flashes? I was just curious cause I've copied him for so many years on that practice but have seen few if any others do the same?

I don't know why there must be a "precedent" regarding flashes: Prince Charles wears them the way he likes them! Ifyou like the look of his flashes, then go for it!

Honestly, I wasn't looking for a smart-*** response. It seemed a logical question since most modern Highland attire is rooted in military (especially) and British fashion, neither of which I am expertly versed. Further to, as this is a kilt forum, it also seemed logical that those reading this thread might be interested to learn more about the roots of modern Highland attire as so elegantly displayed by HRPoW, if there was one in this particular case. Thus, as I stated, I was CURIOUS if there was a precedence (NOT that there had to be), especially since I had been COPYING the PoW for some time now, ie 10+ years...

Obviously you are reading more into Sanford's post than I am, I did not see it as a smart comment at all. Just another opinion on it, from someone who knows a thing or two about Traditional Highland Attire.

Sorry, Deil, if I seemed like a smart-***. I didn't intend to be, but I did want to point out that we don't need precedents for everything that we do or wear, that much of fashion is based on individual taste and style. I am, though, starting a thread about flashes, so you can see that Prince Charles isn't the only one to wear his flashes in that way!
Kind Regards,
Sandford

Much obliged for your clarification, and I certainly see your pointe. I look forward to perusing your flashes thread, as it indeed sounds interesting.
