My first made to measure Kilt on order
Four days ago, I ordered my first made to measure kilt, a casual kilt from USA Kilts, in the Stewart Royal tartan. The tartan for my Alma Mater, Edinboro (PA) University... the Fighting Scots.
I got my very first kilt this year in March at the Celtic Festival in Zephyrhills, FL. A Wallace tartan Sport Kilt and the KILT BUG bit me. My wife was OK with the Wallace kilt since it's my mother's family. I changed into the kilt for the day, but she questioned when I'd wear it again. One week later, I joined the Clan Claus Society and wore my kilt 2 days during the Celebrate Santa Convention in Gatlinburg, TN. Then wore it 2 days one weekend: on Saturday afternoon into Dollywood and on Sunday to Gatlinburg for lunch and our afternoon stroll into shops along the Parkway. Then I learned on X Marks about the Scottish Festival in Blairsville, GA this past weekend and that some members were planning to meet there. So off we went early Sunday morning for a 3 hour trip to Blairsville. Had a great time, met Turpin first, now I'll be Jonesing for one of his custom sporrans, even my wife was impressed with his sporran and she's now A-OK with my kilting days. We'll be traveling to the Ohio Highland Games on the 27th to join Santa Kona in the Clan Claus Society tent.
I'll add a kilt in the official Clan Claus (Claus if the North Pole) tartan. Quite a change from March 7, 2009 when I bought my 1st kilt. It will be from zero kilts to 3 kilts in less than a year.

I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
