I wonder if this would work the other way around... Black sporran and nice brown shoes.

I wear this combo "in the field" at games; my black Freelander sporran with Brown Oxfords.

I prefer brown brogues for daywear, just because they seem a little less formal. I think you can take all this "mix and match" thing a bit too far. I mean who ever heard of a man and dress sense in the same sentence?
