The Tunes of Glory
I know that this has been posted before and discussed in detail, but I thought it appropriate to remind some of the new members of the film.
Last night I watched The Tunes of Glory, great film with plenty of kilts and a good story. I was reminded the various times during my Army career when a popular commander left and the replacement was horrible.
Lt. Col. Jock Sinclair (Alec Guinness) briefly takes over control of a brigade until the new man for the job, Col. Basil Barrow (John Mills), becomes available. When the elitist and aristocratic Barrow takes over, he's instantly displeased with his lower-class predecessor. The conflict between the two men jeopardizes the harmony of the company and escalates after Sinclair roughs up a soldier he finds with his daughter.

After you see the movie, track down the novel by James Kennaway, who also wrote the script for the movie.

Absolutely great film, I suggested it to TCM a while ago and now it's in rotation. I also have it on DVD. I would highly recommend it.

Hi Rogerson785.
In Scotland the film was given out free
with the Daily Mail newspaper as part of
a war film collection.
I collected all 18 titles, some great titles.
