The Lady is a hard-working woman, and it pays off in the beautiful results. I sincerely hope that one day I'll be able to own at least one of her kilts.

En plus des marmottes, Chrystel tient un apprenti de choix en la personne de sa fille. Elle a déjà le coup de mètre très sûr !

I'm another one who is always looking at the background, admiring your house and furnishings. What is that wooden contraption mounted on the wall, to the left of the door? Looks a bit like an elephant head/trunk with a racheting neck maybe something to do with bottling caps? And that hutch full of blue-and-white wear. . . swoon. . .
Oh, yes, lovely kilts and tartan and kids and wife and all that too, of course!

I sure do like the Wallace tartan, I have a SportKilt in Wallace, but it is not the same as having a Wallace Tank.

Thank you for the kind words everyone.
To answer the question, this strange object is a wine bottle opener (tire bouchon). I will demonstrate how it works when we do this video tour of our house.
Best,
