When I had my MGB I always thought of Lucas as the 'Prince of Darkness' - electrics always failed at the most inopportune times. Didn't have a kilt then but would imagine it would have been a struggle to get out with any sense of Decorum.

I agree with Fudgeman, Toyota Highlander, just for the name. For my family, maybe a Subaru Forrester.

But historically for a true highlander it would have to be a good pair of hiking boots. For a lowlander, one of those short-legged reiver horses.

In my case, IT JUST DOESN'T MATTER!! When the Juggernaut emerges in all his splendiferousness, all eyes are on him. And so I can get away with driving my wife's minivan.

    Answer: Lucas Electrics...

Because pleats are "handed" it is easier to enter a right-hand-drive motor car without wadding up ones kilt. "Suicide" doors make entering and exiting even easier, provided they have some width at the bottom of the door. Interestingly Henry Royce preferred that the front doors be hinged at the front, and the rear doors hinged at the back-- in his opinion this was "a more companionable" arrangement.

My preference for a kilted vehicle may be seen in my avatar. If I could figure out how to enlarge the thumbnail, I would. Perhaps, if Young Rathdown gets home any time soon, I will ask him to scan & download a couple of better photos.

Oh, and why is it that if "Britannia Rules the Waves", her cars won't go through a mud puddle?

Well, for me, it has to be the back seat of the Maybach 62 S, though not in this particular finish.
