Been on xmarks for more than 18 months and don't think I have ever seen you post that pumped up happy! Ain't it grand to be excited about something? They are beautiful work and look great on you. Make sure your wife hears all of these compliments, because they are actually directed at her, despite the fact that you are wearing the hose. Fella, today you are just another (happy) model. This is her day to shine.

Those hose really turned out nicely. Please pass my congrats on to Mrs. Newsome.
For the rest of us: there's approx. 30 hours' work in that pair of hose. If you're
blessed enough to possess handknit hose, be careful in the washing thereof. Just as you wouldn't wash your car or truck with paint thinner, you shouldn't wash wool hose with harsh detergents. Just a little detergent (or even dishwashing liquid) in some cool water and a little handwashing is all they need, and of course lay them flat to dry.
And now, back to our regular, scheduled programming...

Wow Matt, what a lucky man you are to have a wife who loves you enough to spend the hours it takes to make such a wonderful handmade gift. Those are truely amazing. My wife has taken up knitting again, and has made a couple of pairs of short socks in preparation for trying some kilt hose for me. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into your hose. Give your wife a big hug, and take her out to dinner.

Those are amazing! Amazing! What a lovely wife she must be. You better let her know we're all talking about her and her kilt hose.

Very nice, it's obvious you are very proud of the quality of your wife's work. Just remember you cannot wear them to bed, you must take them off... LOL

Who bought the copy of "Designs for Knitting Kilt Hose and Knickerbocker Stockings"?
by Lady Veronica Gainford... My wife loves to knit; so I bought her that book (with her approval), and "Patterns for Guernseys, Jerseys, and Arans" by Gladys Thompson; but, nothing yet... I guess I need to make some more points; and I expect you've had yours redeemed, so there's no time like now to do something extra special for her! ;-)

What I wouldn't give to be that happy model...
