I don't disagree with you Alan, just pointing out that there are other options. Now scrambling around on a wet fibreglass deck in a heavily soaked kilt plastered on your legs could be a recipe for disaster. I just wanted to point out that the wearing of undergarment is not taboo as some might feel.

So GMan... that thread you posted earlier about higher quality threads and higher regard for kindness and understanding... how do you feel now?

After a nice kilted day, I really enjoy putting this kilt away, neatly, and get into what I call "my pyjamas": that is my jeans... and scrunch up the couch in front of the telly while Lady C. goes on sewing...

    my 2 cents.

    Best,

Dan I'm not anti-kilt! ...If I was anti-kilt I wouldn't have made 30+ of them and own 11 myself! Also, I'm not anti-kilt-wearing. I mean, I wear one to work 3-4 days a week, and a LOT on weekends. I haven't worn pants to a "dress-up" occasion in nearly four years.

I'm just of the opinion that "regimental" and it's implications is not the only consideration to take into account when strapping on your kilt, and that there are times and situations and activities for which the kilt is not the best thing to be wearing....not a traditional kilt, and sometimes not a contemporary kilt, either.

In our enthusiasm for kilts, kilts, kilts....and I'm as enthusiastic as any around here... I am concerned that some guys go overboard (pun intentional ) and strap the thing on when maybe they shouldn't.

And now I've said the above, basically three times in this thread and 'nuff said!!!

I seriously doubt that you are anti-kilt at any moment, AlanH. Common scense should dictate what you are going to wear as they are things that I would not do kilted because it will be against good judgment.
