Actually, while my surname is Armstrong, I was not wearing Armstrong tartan that evening. I've not yet been able to afford an Armstrong tartan kilt I really like. I have a Sport Kilt in Armstrong, but felt it not quite right for the evening.

The kilt I was wearing that night is a Stillwater in weathered Mackenzie.

And, since at least one other person is probably thinking it, that picture makes me look far more "of substance" than I feel.

Having seen Carter in action once before, I think he'll manage just fine...

Nice pics. I love that badger head sporran every time I see someone wearing it I'm like a deer in headlights.

Thanks. Our waitress liked it too. In fact, I was barely in the door before it got petted! It also got a couple of favorable comments from other patrons, including the lovely Kacy. (But, maybe they were just being polite. At least they got the animal right.)

Got the sporran from Craggie a few years back, at the Glasgow (KY) Highland Games. I think it'll probably be the only one I ever get. (Acceptable as daywear and dress wear, a good hand-sized opening, and looks good with many different tartans - though I'll probably only get varieties of Scott.)

Thanks. Consider yourself lucky you weren't in the car on the drive home that night----he can go from happy to cranky faster than a 'Vette does the standing quarter mile.

We consider ourselves extremely lucky to have such a great kid. Both his mother and I get to play dress up with him like a walking +/- talking doll---I put him in the kilt outfit, while his mother tries to dress him like a little dutch boy.
