Does this sound like a good start to everyone?
I'm just getting back to this thread, I'd say the starter stuff would be as follows:

Sporran

Like you said a good leather sporran is the way to go, however just a thought for you, perhaps you should go for a semi dress or dress sporran to use for your wedding. If you do go for a leather sporran my advise would be to go for a Freelander Sporran. Here is mine

Jacket

I would say a dark tweed might be just the thing, a lot of guys go for the Prince Charlie coatee for their wedding, however in truth the Prince Charlie should only be seen after 6pm. That is why I suggest a dark tweed. You can get one from USAKilts. If you want to go for thhe Prince Charlie or a Black Argyll with silver buttons USAkilts has those as well. I got mine at a local tartan shop as an ex rental sale, you may be able to do the same. Here is what I'm talking about.

Hose
I think it's great that you are getting a friend to knit you hose, however I think you may need more than the one pair, so that is why I've included this in the list. If you just want a pair that will do until the hand knit ones are done then I'd say go with WBSocks they are an ebay seller. If you want some good quality hose at a reasonable price I'd say go for the Lewis Line of Hawick Hose from the Scottish Tartan Museum
These are from WBSocks

These are from Hawick Hose

Belt and Buckle
Again USAKilts and the Scottish Tartan Museum could help here or you could also go to Jerry at Stillwater kilts
I got my dress belt from RKilts
and my buckle from Oconee Leather Works

I hope this helps you out a wee bit.
