Two birds - one stone
Just new to the forum but I thought I would share this. Our search and rescue group was invited up to our local ski hill to help kick off their summer season. We took up our new command truck for a little show and tell, and I got to spend the weekend spreading the good word about our SAR capabilities and be kilted in a beautiful environment. Favourable comments about the kilt, although a lot of jokes about responding to a search attired as I was and having to dela with Devil's Club....ouch!

Good on ya lad! No reason you can't look good while educating the masses.

Great job, out and about, fearless in the kilt in a very public place. Bravo.
Since you are relatively new here, and we have already become friends (we won't discuss how), I feel I should gently apprise you of Xmarks Rule No. .....well, whatever number it is: NO PICS, IT DIDN'T HAPPEN. You see, way down in one of the xmarks codiciles that you approved when you checked that "I agree to" box when you joined is the statement that this board is filled with VOYEURS and folks who enjoy VICARIOUS kilted experiences, and that you agreed to post LARGE FULL COLOR PICTURES anytime you go out kilted, even if it is just down to the convenience store to pick up milk. Anything even remotely significant like, say, driving a Search And Rescue Vehicle up a mountain while kilted definitely falls within forum guidelines and REQUIRES PICTURES.
Just a friendly public service reminder (we have some folks who get pretty grumpy when something exciting like this happens and they don't get their daily "hit" of kilt pictures).
Well done you.
Jeff

Way to go and a sharp look too. Thanks for all you do.
Feeling bad now about leaving Search and Rescue out of the kilts and service thread.

Well done!
Somehow I think if I needed rescuing I wouldn't care what my heroes were wearing.

Even if they were wearing black hoods, Carrying torches, and chanting latin?

So are you going to the Games on the 11th? Sheesh -- another kiltie in Kamloops and I didn't even know you were out there!

Hats off to you SAR guys! Great look, too. I know what you mean about being a little afraid to do things while kilted. I went to Gettysburg for my vacation 2 years ago (kilted of course) and ended with General Hoods Lonestar Tick Brigade assaulting my legs... I looked up some Google pics of Devil's Club... Those don't look fun, kilted or otherwise!
