You are right, I am likely guilty as well.

Or at least if the shoe was on the other foot, I would likely be miffed at her behavior allowing them to. No I am quite sure I would be indeed.

    Grant,
When you next get a haircut, wear the kilt, the rubber chicken sporran.
The sporran will get the most attention.
Without the rubber chicken sporran, and your usual luck, some older ladies miniature version of a dog will come over to check the kilt.
Also the above only might work at a "salon"
At the barber shop, none of the above will happen.

Last haircut I had was in a kilt. When I walked in the other stylist said "Oh no, he converted you too." You see, my stylist has over 30 kilts and counting.

This was also the only time I've ever been asked the question. An elderly woman asked what I wear under the kilt. I replied "Whatever I want."

Saw a great shirt that answers the question. The answer? "Hose, Brigues, and Garter flashes."

I like this answer, I may have to borrow it.

Technically plaid, but they look like tartans.

Can't imagine wool underwear, that would not be Jacobite whatsoever.

A little closer to these actually...

The last summer I kilted up and was headed for the door when the Bride asked "Where are you going?" I replied that I was going to get my hair cut. She told me to go change and stick around cuz our daughter was coming over to cut my hair-for free. Drats-plans foiled again.
