    Used to be comfortable

A couple weeks ago I took a trip to north carolina. Since I wasn't at work and had no real resposibilities, I kilted it the entire trip. I had my UK on and brought a sportkilt and sporran with me just in case I needed a change for whatever reason.

Basically, I didn't wear pants for five days straight. Of course when I got back, I had to wear slacks and jeans for work and they seemed really uncomfortable. Really, really uncomfortable, borderline irritating.

I thought the discomfort would go away over time and those same work clothes I've been wearing for the past 7 years would be comfortable again like they used to be. However, it's been a little over two weeks and pants are still just as uncomfortable as the day I got back.

Has anyone else been in this situation?

    Yes yes yes

Just back to work after a 10 day Kilted vacation. The instant I put on pants [work required] my mood sank. I want to retire.

I can honestly say I've never experienced "discomfort" in pants, either before or after kilts...

I do understand. If I want to blend in pants are the norm, but am I uncomfortable because of the pants, I do not know.

I have been retired for 6 years now, it's either a kilt or shorts, I haven't worn pants or jeans in forever, the shorts are uncomfortable enough, but in some of these rain storms I just don't like wearing my kilts out!

Having been kilted full-time for over a year now, I do not want to find out. All I can say is that I was uncomfortable in trousers before I started wearing a kilt and I suspect that it would be very much worse now.

Hopefully I will never find out.

Agreed... and to add, I can't see how they could be.

If your trousers are uncomfortable, it is probably because they don't properly fit. Trousers, like kilts, are tailored garments and therefor need to fit to be comfortable.

I know if pants fit properly, they shouldn't be uncomfortable. That's pretty much the rule for almost any garment of clothing.

However, those same pants seemed pretty comfortable before I spent almost a week in a kilt. If it wasn't for the dress code at work, I probably would wear kilts almost 24/7.
