    I just watched your video again and I noticed something.

    Look UP, look straight up during the last pull, right before the release in the hammer. Stop your vid *just* at the release point, and look at your head position. You're looking mostly straight ahead, and as you release, your head comes around as you open up your shoulders. Opening up the shoulders is good, but that head position is affecting the lenth of your pull and possibly the size of the orbit of the ball, as well.

    Now stop your training partners vid just before HE releases. He's looking straight up.

    Looking straight up helps keep your arms long and help you pull "high". This is a key hammer point I picked up at a workshop a few weeks ago.
