It seems simple to me: you have the cash. You need it for the Gathering. You want it. And you have the chance to try it on and see what kind of shape it's in before money ever exchanges hands and can say "no," if need be?

Aren't kilts like tattoos? You get the first because you don't have one. You get the second because you only have the one. You get the third because, well, you already have two, so you might as well. You get the fourth because....

Step 12. Repeat as necessary and have a good time with friends and family.
