Three reasons actually;-
1. We quite often get rain here after dark
2. Being follically challenged (not enough hair) it keeps the cold night air off
and
3. Nobody can see how you look because it's dark

Having had cancer removed from my face, wearing a cap isn't optional. It's a flat cap, unless someone can offer advise on a casual cover that provides shade..
