I received my Frugal Corner kilt today!

This has now taken five months, i.e. about 20 weeks, as opposed to the 8-10 weeks they quote for custom orders. Bear in mind (as I posted above) that they completely lost my order in the move from Minnesota to DuBois, Pennysylvania.

The custom length is right. However, the waist is one size larger than I ordered!

I ordered one size up from my kilt waist measurement, because they say they are sized to the maximum. There are four holes an inch apart, so you can tighten to three inches smaller, but no larger, than the size label. Some have posted that the FC kilts are not sized this way, but this one is.

So now, having received the size above the size I ordered, the maximum that this goes to is four inches larger than my kilt waist, and the tightest is still an inch bigger than my measurement (which, however, was taken at a fairly tight fit).

Nonetheless, although loose, it stays up without a belt, and if necessary there appears to be some room to punch an extra hole in the straps to make it slightly tighter. If I lost any weight, though, I'd have to get the straps moved. After waiting this long, I'm not about to send it back.

FC's '13oz kilt' is definitely lighter weight fabric than either of my other acryllic kilts, and one of those is an SWK Thrifty. That's not a bad thing in this neck of the woods, though. Summers here are very hot and humid.

It came with three rows of basting stitches, and these were black on a dark green kilt, so not as easy to see as if they'd used white thread for that. Getting them all out was quite difficult, and I may have done some minor damage in the process. There were some loose green threads that I had to cut too.

All in all, it's what I wanted. I also got it at a great price in their St. Patrick's Day sale (remember St. Patrick's Day, four months ago, LOL!). Repeat business doesn't really arise, as they have nothing else in their range that I want or am likely to want other than this Solid Green kilt, although I might have considered buying accessories from them if their service were better. If they add a Saffron kilt or any tartans that I actually have a link to, I'll have to think carefully before ordering them.
