What can't you live without?
It's Friday! (For us who are on the other side of the International Date Line). Yay! And as many of my clansmen know, I've been having a rough week. (Things have improved (at least temporarily) and I feel much better. Thanks for all your support).
Anyway, here's a fun little forum game I thought of, inspired by the zombie thread recently resurrected about Tattoo Bradley's Kindle.
I am also a tech junkie. I loooooooove my toys! But sometimes I wonder which of my gadgets I truly couldn't live without. Sooooo, here is your mission, should you choose to accept it:
1) Think of all the electronic toys you may own: iPods, Crackberries, Kindles, laptops, digital cameras, portable TVs, cellular phones, etc.
2) Now, choose your 2 favourite items. They may be the ones you use most, or the ones that you enjoy the most, or whatever.
Got them? Good.
-----<<<<<STOP READING HERE UNTIL YOU'VE CHOSEN YOUR 2 FAVOURITE THINGS>>>>>-----
.
.
.
ith:
Alright.
3) Now it's time to choose which item you truly can't live without. Suppose I made you an offer. Suppose I offered you a brand new, custom-made, 8-yard, hand-sewn KILT (or ANY kilt of your choice for those XMTS members who would prefer a contemporary) in exchange for 1 of your 2 favourite items. Which (if any) would it be?
I should add, that the condition (the rule, if you will) is that you must give up the item right away during the "Jones" period, and are prohibited from buying a replacement until 1 calendar year after you've received your kilt. (hehe... )
Well, when I thought about it, here's what I came up with.
2 items I love: My eeePC 701 , my Nokia E63 smartphone.
Keep: E63
Trade for kilt: eeePC (Make mine a Thompson Camel in a 16oz wool, please)
Man, that was a tough choice.
K. Now it's your turn.

Surprisingly enough, Panache and I don't own a lot of high tech stuff.
But we love our digital camera (as you all may know) and our computer (so we may broadcast the pictures).
If I had to choose one of those, it would be the computer (you can still convert to digital from real film).
But the reality is, the one thing neither of us can live without, is....
EACH OTHER!
Be well,

Sorry... I would have said one of my synthesizers or music computer - which are worth too much to trade for a kilt. Shock horror - ye. Once again; sorry!

It would have to be one really nice kilt for me to give up........
My Motorcycle!
The High tech wiz bang gimcracks like my G1 andriod Phone you can have, in fact I'd like to play skip the cell phone some place where the tide rolls in and be done with them all.
Now my Ipod I like. Maybe that one for a Lare or a Tweeksbury 8 yard double box pleat with fly! in Custom Woven Birse Tartan.
As for my computers, I gave up on the new faster better years ago, all of mine are from a friend's computer shop second hand. Slap in another stick of memory and its all good.ith:

Not much of a techie, about the only things I own in the gadget area are my ipod and my cell phone. For a hand sewn ancient Gordon in 8yrds. 16oz, heck you could have them both.

Hello CDNSushi, how are you.
Hope things are getting better for you.
I could not live without my DVD player or
my TV.
Kind wishes.

When I take time off, which isn't very often, I go to places where there are no toys and no use for toys if you brought them. OK a sat phone would work. But there is no TV, no cell phone and no computer in the places I like to visit in S America or in Africa, and that is the way I prefer it.
So, I really cannot think of any device that I would miss, and if I actually quit for a year, why go back?

Forget it. I can make kilts. I can't live without my gadgets.
Okay, that's not exactly true, I could live without them if I had to. I don't want to though.
