Saw the fabric and decided it needed to be made into a kilt.

I am not usually a fan of non-tartan kilts, but all those earth tones together looks sooo good. I am sooo jealous.

That is an absolutely beautiful kilt. Where did you get the fabric?

Thank you.
I found it at the local WalMart.
Was there yesterday and found a cool looking argyle type material made out of what appears to be the same stuff.
I think I know what my next one will be now....

That is a really nice looking kilt, and I think that the sporan and strap are very good - I used to do macramé work and I am inspired to take it up again.
As you are going to try another kilt, might I dare to suggest that you see how the apron looks if you make it just a bit wider?
I think it will look more flattering an inch or so wider - I have been told I have a good eye for the proportions of garments, and their wearers, and my first thought was that the apron looked just a bit narrow. Having gone back and looked at it again it still gives me that impression.
Of course other people might not even notice - and you might want a narrow apron anyway - it was just a thought.

Thank you Anne.
Constructive advice is always welcome.
I did make the apron that size intentionally.
I prefer an apron a little wider than the narrow UK's, but not as wide as a traditional kilt.
The size I have there is what I use for almost all of my kilts.
It works about right for me.
When I sit, the apron falls between my legs without having to fuss with it.
This one is a little different because of the material.
That may be why it looks off.
I think it looks ok on my solid and camo ones this size.
This one also curls an me a bit, again I think because of the material.
May have to mess with it a bit on the next one out of similar material.

Hm, someone nicked my idea even before I tried to make one!
Interesting fabric and good craftsmanship.
I like the breeze between my knees
