1. The straps are pointed and look pretty flimsy.
2. The buckles are stamped and look like the one on the Pakistani kilt we keep in the shop (as an 'example' of Bright Skye).
3. See the horizontal stitching about 2" down from the top? That's where Pakistani Kilt makers sew in their 2" canvas lining reinforcement strips (stitching them THROUGH the front of the kilt).
4. The little bit of fell (the first 2 pleats on the right side of the pic) you can see isn't sewn down.
Another thing I have seen on some of the ones I have examined is a line of stitching on the fringe edge of the apron that is actually about 2 inches in from the apron edge that shows on the outside of the kilt.
