I hate things that hang from my waist
For some reason I don't care for belts or sporan's around my waist. My solution to carry some of the things I need is simply the rubberband. Twist it around several time's the object and put it between you kilt aprons and you are good to go. It rarely moves and unless you are doing handstands it won't fall out. Here is a couple of examples-Lighter and wallet wrapped in a rubberband-

To my eyes the kilt is not a kilt without a sporran. That is a handy tip though.

Holy Utility Belt, Batman!
The spirit of the Declaration of Arbroath (6 April 1320) abides today, defiantly resisting any tyranny that would disarm, disperse and despoil proud people of just morals, determined to keep the means of protecting their families and way of life close at hand.

Now that is something else, good show.
I'll stick to my sporran though, I wear the kilt, not the skirt.

I believe we should each have our own way, as for me I will keep my sporran.

I'm in this camp- but that is indeed a great idea.

Have you actually tested it doing handstands in a kilt?

I have one Freedom kilt with two slash pockets and one apron pocket. Have yet to wear a sporran with it.

Just got my Freedom Kilt and I love the pockets for certain things, and tried it sans sporran, but I have to say I felt like I wasn't fully dressed. It'll be sporrans for me, but I understand why some might enjoy being sporran-free.
