Perthshire Amber is a great album. Perfect for listening to while driving about the Highlands. Also the name of his annual autumn festival.

Just ran across this thread. I've seen Dougie perform three times now and he is a tremendous artist. Got to meet him during the intermission of one of the shows a couple of years back. My buddy and I stepped outside and just happened to join him while he was having a cigarette. What a personable guy!

Two of these shows were him alone on stage and the last time was with the band, including his son on percussion. At that show at Interlochen they performed "The Gael", the first time I heard him do that tune live. Being a huge LOTM fan and student of the F&IW, that was really special. I'm only sorry I didn't get to see him a couple of weeks ago when he was at The Ark in Ann Arbor.

I think I have all of his albums on my iPod and never tire from listening to his music. Great writer, performer and entertainer. You can download his muic from his Dunkeld website.

I'm really surprised he isn't a bigger entertainment personality than he is but believe that is due to his umcompromising commitment to being who he is and not what the recording industry wanted to make of him. With his own label, he does what he wants. Aye, good'un Dougie!
