Impressive, indeed. Makes one stop and think. Did you go to the bluff and gaze upon the beach and water? And think about storming into the wall of fire and lead?

I visited Normandy...and the beaches many times before and believe me...when you stand on the Omaha beach and look up ...and think what those poor sods who came out of the water had to face there's only one thought "This was not the place to be!"

Even more...when you visit the Point du Hoc a few miles south...looking down on a sunny peaceful day is already frightening...let alone climbing up there on a grim wet morning with people throwing all kinds of nasty stuff at you.
