    The end of a Jones

There is an order to the madness of a Kilt Jones.

It starts with the decision to purchase a kilt followed by a kilt choice.

Then the call is placed and measurements are given.
That's where the easy part stops and the painful part starts....."the waiting is the hardest part".
Then it happens.... a joyous day when the package arrives.
I'll tell the rest of the story in pictures:

The package arrives....neatly placed against your door.

You rush inside and stare at the box...it's like Christmas!

You carefully take out all the goodies.

A few oooohs and ahhhhs from the Mrs. and it's time to get dressed.

    Whoo-hoo! Congratulations!

My husband should be receiving a handmade by Matt Newsome in ancient MacKay blue within the next two to three weeks! I imagine you will be seeing a similar photo spread from him!!

My next kilt will be in Clan Keith tartan to honor the end of a 500 year feud with this clan.
The Commander of Clan Gunn and the Chief of Clan Keith signed a "Bond and Covenant of Friendship" officially ending the feud between our respective clans. The treaty was signed at the site of the battle of St. Tears five hundred years before.

That's good to hear about. I'm wondering in we Veatch (Veitch) descendants can point to any official closure to the ancient feud with the Tweedies. Although it was not clan connected, this Borders family feud was a long and bitter one by all accounts. It would be nice to know how it was finally put to rest.

The Keith tartan is another handsome one and it's always good to know where the next jones is coming from, isn't it...

Yes it is good to know about the next Jones.... I knew I would be getting another one....possibly a firefighter tartan but when I heard about a Keith who stated he was getting a Gunn to commemorate the treaty, I couldn't think of a better next kilt. In Clan Gunn...it is now customary to name your first born son "Keith" to honor the treaty.

You should contact your society genealogist to find out about a possibly formal treaty. The Gunn/Keith feud was a really brutal and long lasting one that would actually make a great movie.

My thoughts exactly ...When I first saw it...my thoughts were.."that's not everything I ordered".... then the weight of the box told me it probably was.
