    Gordon Ramsay

Royal Hospital Road, London...3 Michelin stars.

We both had the Menu Prestige...

    * 3 different amuse bouche
    * Pressed foie gras with Madeira jelly, smoked duck, peach and almond crumble.
    * Ravioli of lobster, langoustine and salmon with tomato chutney, vinaigrette.
    * Fillet of turbot with braised baby gem lettuce, leeks and cep sauce.
    * Cannon of Cornish lamb with confit shoulder, ratatouille and thyme jus (Robin)
    * Roasted pigeon from Bresse with grilled polenta, smoked pork belly and date sauce (Michelle)
    * Selection of cheeses from the trolley.
    * Strawberry, Champagne and elderflower soup with vanilla cream.
    * Bitter chocolate and hazelnut cylinder with ginger mousse and blackcurrant granité (Michelle)
    * Something that wasn't on the menu for me, some sort of a bread and butter cake with fresh fruit, cream and rum poored over it.
    * coffee and petit fours...and a nice Armagnac.

Since we had so many courses I asked for wine by the glass matching the dishes...the Chateau Rieussec 1999 Sauternes with the foie gras was just epic!

Spend a small fortune, but it was worth every penny of it..."a must do before you die" experience.
Expect perfection....sublime dishes, wines and service...all to perfection. At first it's almost frightening, but the Maitre d'..Jean-Claude Breton..makes you feel at home.
The wine waitress picked the perfect wines for us (we gave her carte blanche).

This wasn't just a nice dinner...it was an experience we'll never forget. We're not rich and this blasted a big hole in our bank account, but I really hope to be able to do this again some day.

Must book a table 2 months in advance

Also worth a visit...The Kitchin from Tom and Michaela Kitchin.

    Edinburgh....Commercial Quay, Leith.

Tom Kitchin is renown for only using products from carefully selected local suppliers...his motto is "From nature to plate"

The Beef Wellington was just fan-tas-tic!!!

Absolute value for money and a well deserved Michelin star.

I think they thought we were Michelin inspectors...Michelle booked the table and she has a French family name. The staff was a bit nervous

Afterwards we had our coffee in the lounge/bar where we had a nice chat with Tom Kitchin.

    Only one negative remark:
The wine waiter pulled off the whole lead cap from our bottle of Pommard...an absolute no no

    Wonderful photos and post!

If I may ask what was featured on the cheese selection and how were they? I really enjoy trying different cheeses. Were there any must tries?

What a great experience, my wife and I did something very close to this a few years ago. For my birthday she kidnapped me and took me to New Orleans, and while we were there we had dinner at Emeril Lagasse's. His original eatery in the Big Easy. Worth every penny we spent.

Great photos! Sometimes the hit to the wallet is more than worth the experience and the memories - congratulations!
