One highly resistant lad
So without giving away personal details, my friend and fellow athlete J*** has a rotten social life with the opposite gender. This makes no sense. He's a great guy, he's nice, he's entirely acceptable-looking, he has a job and a couple of degrees in Engineering. He's an athlete and he's got a touch of the "dreamer" in him, he wants to build and market an electric car. He and a buddy have most of the prototype built in his buddy's garage.
I keep telling J***>..."dude, get your hiney into a kilt. Get a belt and sporran and some hose and you WILL meet women."
He's been nosing around the MacKinnons kilt booth at the last couple of Games, seems rather interested in one of the lasses but..
NO KILT.
I don't get it. Then again, if this lass can't convince him to get a decent kilt (something nicer than the sportkilt he throws in) the I dunno what more I can do!

Perhaps you should get a female friend to make these suggestions to him. Wouldn't hurt if she had a friend to introduce him to! Sometimes it's all about the packaging of the suggestion!!

Ahhh---the poor young lad has failed to feel the real power of the kilt yet! Perhaps still too self conscious, but yet he'll wear one and risk looking 'foolish' out there throwing heavy toys for fun?
If he's on this forum, I'd ask the female members to post what they think and feel about men in kilts. Let him hear it/see it from the ones that matter.
Sounds like he needs a few buddies to 'help' him go out on a kilt night--maybe after practice?

See, I've promised him that if he buys the kilt and straps it on, I'll pay for his beer for the first night at the local brewery "beer fridays". I feel like I'm leading a lamb to the slaughter!

You can lead a horse to water but you can't make him drink unless you tie a rock around his neck, shove a vacuum hose up his tail end, and turn on the vacuum cleaner...
You've got the rock around his neck...now where's the vacuum cleaner?
Too bad he's missing soooo many lovely adventures with the lasses....leaves more for me though...

You're such a top bloke!
Aye, leading him into a man's world it is!
Do you have one he could borrow for a night out, before splashing the cash?

You know for a fact that your friend actually likes girls, don't you? Not everyone does - and all the effort in the world cannot change that.

I am pretty sure that women are J***'s preference in terms of a love interest. *nodding*
