Great to hear about your firat time out. It all starts with those small steps and soon enough you are walking taller with huge strides. I wear my kilts to school every Friday (where other terachers dress down..I dress up). Once you get past that first time....

I have found that when kilted it is better to do manly things, like carrying 10' long pieces of steel unistrut, pumping gas and buying a burrito with HOT salsa. Don't know if I would go to a fabric store or order a latte.
Last time I was in a Coffee Shop, I was kilted. I ordered a large cup of "Highland Grog" and off I went. It seemed appropriate.

Pockets were a pretty good invention. Pointers welcome!
I was going to link to Jerry's Cargo Sporran (Stillwater kilts) but I don't see it, he must be out of stock at the moment. It holds a fair bit.

He is at the moment. He'll be getting more soon (I hope) and maybe some in leather toward the end of the year. I know because I emailed him and had a response within an hour. I've been eagerly waiting for one since I first saw one close up a couple of months ago.

I'll definitely keep an eye out for those cargo sporrans.

Also, a woman from our PR department (who was absolutely tickled by the kilt on Friday - said it made her week) stopped by my cube this morning with a look of anticipation on her face, and was completely crestfallen that I was wearing a pair of jeans. It was actually very amusing.

Jerry said I got the last one he had and it was removed from his website. That was about 7 weeks ago. He said it is a popular item so I'm sure he'll restock it. The flap has a zippered poocket, just right for business cards. Under the flap is a pocket and behind it is the largest pocket that is accessed by a zipper opening that extendes down each side a couple of inches so it opens up for easy access to the contents. With the separate areas you only have to remember where you put your things and you don't have to dig through everything to find 'em. Note: It comes without any straps. I ordered the sporran hangers.

I did have to modify the strap connections. I didn't like the angle that the sporran hung so I raised the connection strap on the back so it now hangs straighter.

woah, 7 weeks now? crap. I have been thinking of replacing mine, I am beginning to doubt one of the tassels, it might be a workmanship flaw, might be wear and tear, don't know, but thinking of getting a new one before I 'have to' if you know what i mean.
