First, what Angus said. Then, what jock said. To reenforce I follow up with what cajuncelt said.
Wear colors, pleae! Black for more formal or funerals. Best of all they won't give you that "hire", or, "off the peg" look.
Dress it up man, this is your chance to legitmately be a peaccck!

I picked up a pair of navy blue "piper's" hose on sale from STM a while back and love them... even though I haven't done more than pick up a chanter since 8th grade.
IMHO, I think the *bright* white might be a bit much outside of a pipe band, but if you like it, go for it.
Since the price seems to be right, you could always try dying them a different color, too, I suppose....

I wear heavy duty, thick hose as I've got no calf muscles! Skinny hose makes me look, well, skinny!
Wear what you like. I'd be amazed if anybody would either notice, let alone care enough to say anything to your face!

Wear'em,
Piper's hose are the most comfortable hose I have found so far (large calves).
