Hose Tops
Now, I'm not talking about diced hose tops, like you wear with spats. I'm talking about the nifty knitted ones that Big Mikey and sydnie7 do. These are basically knitted cuffs about 3 inches wide that fit over the rolled-over top of your socks to add a bit of color.
I like them, but they always seem bulky to me. However I have honkin' huge calves and almost every pair of hose I have except for Strings Outrageous Hand-Knitted Kilt Hose are so tight around these gams that there's nothing left for the rollover. They're just stretched to the limit.
So I've thought about purchasing a pair. Thoughts? Does anybody with elephant-sized calves wear a set of these?

Alan,
Have you asked Mikey or Sydnie if they can knit these with a thinner yarn?
I have a pair of Mikey's and they don't seem too thick on my shapely calves but then again yours are twice as wide!
Cheers

When I ordered my Hose Toppers from Mikey, all aspects, including yarn thickness and colours, were discussed and agreed before the knitting began.
They are far better than I could have imagined.

Alan,
Just what the heck are you asking here?????
Big Mikey's Hose Toppers are made to fit Big Mikey!!!!!!
Now, I've seen your calves, and very nice ones they are, but I'm sorry to tell you this but compared to Big Mikey yours are wimpy and sort of girlish.
So just PM Mikey and get a pair.

True James, but look at what I was comparing them too.
It just seemed strange that Alan would ask about large Toppers from Mikey.
I just stretched out the three pair of Mikey's Toppers I have here in the shop and they will almost go around a beer keg.
I'm sorry but Alan just doesn't come close to maxing out a Pair of Big Mikey Hose Toppers.
So I'm afraid I will have to stand by my description.

Well, you know, I didn't want to come off as being hyper-critical of Big Mikey's handwork...
You know, since Big Mikey is such a tiny, quiet, shy little thing...I didn't want to hurt his feelings, or anything.
