			 My other halfs kilt-skirt

well today my other half's kiltskirt arrived i thought id take a view pics of the kiltskirt while i hung it to decrease it a bit... im using two kilt hangers to hang it the same way as my kilt (a tip i Learnt from this site)
the tartan is the ancient Chisholm tartan on the tag but Ive always known that style of tartan as the Chisholm weathered as you can see by the label it was made by jedburgh kilt maker im not sure if the company still exists or its went bust but the quality seems alright
its a really lightweight material i reckon about 10 Oz perhaps its new yet old i reckon it was made a fair while ago buts its never been worn as the original labels and tags have that old look to them even the wee kilt pin on the kiltskirt has some oxidation on the chrome plating ...that i`ll replace for my misses though perhaps a wee gift is in order for her
i m must admit wasn't too sure about this style of Chisholm tartan as i have the Chisholm hunting ancient kilt but the red tones aren't as bad as i imagined compared to the Chisholm modern tartan which is a strong bright tartan this tartan has a autum feel for me the green blends with the red given that slight brown look to the kilt

and if the misses never wears it .....well then i`ll consider getting it cut down some and a bit of reworking for a "muck about" kilt Ive saw few members on here with re-tailored kilts and they look alright to me

i also received my membership to the clan Chisholm society and with it came some small clan crested items from pens to notepads and a thank you letter for joining fitting considering the Chisholm kiltskirt arrived today

..one item was this nifty pin that i shall attach to my braemar jacket

Hi Scott, nice skirt! I found one like it on ebay a few years back. To small for the wife back then so I passed it on to my sister. I have been trying to get a kilt made in weathered Chisholm, but Lochcarron quit making it awhile back. But the search goes on. By the way, nice pin, wish the U.S. branch made some like that.

Skauwt, that's a lovely skirt! The part of the tartan that *isn't red* is subtly beautiful and reminds me of the Isle of Skye tartan (like a weathered one). Hope your lady likes it.

if i find any place that sells the tartan i`ll let you know,
the UK branch gave me two pens with the clan crest and the pin Ive shown also a wee notepad with a Chisholm tartan sticker on it nothing fancy but i guess its nice to go with my collection of all things boar crested with the clan crest
