Shopping suggestions - Pittsburgh PA
Hope this is an okay thing to ask, realising that sponsors here are great businesses.
Can anyone make recommendations for accessories and kilts in general in and around Pittsburgh PA?
I got the bug real bad, and gotta get kilt #2. I've settled on a MacBeth-Ancient tartan on a casual kilt that I wear with a shirt tie and jacket.
While I will order from one of fine sponsors, I'm looking for places to get instant gratification
Tony

My wife used to live in the pittsburgh area and therefore I used to spend alot of time in the city. However, I'm sorry to say that there isn't a place to get a kilt. At least not that I have found yet.
The only kilt store I know of is the "Kilted Nation". It's about 4 and a half hours away from Pittsburgh in Manassas Virginia. Cool place, but it is four and a half hours away.
If you can wait for September there is a Highland Games held in Ligonier, PA. A little over an hour drive time from Pittsburgh. That would be the place to go if you really wanted to see the kilt and try it on first. I was there last year and there were all kinds of vendors selling kilts and the stuff that goes with them.

After living in the 'burgh for five years I have to say that hurts a bit Zardoz. ;)
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Jeff Morneweck is a kiltmaker in Cuddy. I think he's on the forum somewhere. Here's the website.

Sorry 'bout that, I'm gonna blame that post on Guinness Stout!
I mentioned my post to a friend from Philly this morning, and he said "Man, it's all the way across the state, like 300 miles!" Which to me is not that big a drive, "all the way across the state" in Texas is about 800 miles!
