I had some material left over after I made my first X Kilt, so I thought I would experiment a little while refreshing my sewing skills.
I followed the directions for the X Kilt more or less; but instead of box pleats I did a RevK knife pleat. Twenty 3" pleats with a 1 1/2" reveal and a 13" apron. I'm pleased with the result. I found some over the calf tube socks at the "worlds largest retail store" that will work for casual wear, albeit without cuffs and/or flashes. I still have to sew the belt loops on by hand. My machine won't handle it. It was straining just to get the waist band sewn on. It came out a little shorter than I expected, so I will have to wear it a tad lower on the waist. I will probably wear it hiking and geo-caching tomorrow as I attempt my 1000th find. A special outfit for a special occasion!!
I guess the important thing every body wants to see is the pictures. Even on a tripod my ancient digital camera doesn't take real sharp pictures any more. And I cut my head of a bit; but that's not the important part.
