My Daughter saw the Tattoo, and was blown away
Talked to my daughter Hanna by phone from Edinburgh at the end of her last full day there.
She had her last performance on the royal mile, went atop Arthurs Seat, and had seen the Military Tattoo all in the same day. She babbled like a kid on Santas Lap before Christmas, talking about the Tattoo.
Her ( and My ) favorite was no suprize... the Secret Drum Corps of Switzerland. Treat yourself to see the 2009 Version of their show by tapping it into youtube. They added a twist to their show this year.
I know she gained a whole new respect and admiration for the pipes, and the traditions, gala and pagentry that go into events like this. She wept at the lone piped, and was overtaken by the mass pipe numbers.
Hanna also liked the international acts that attended this years Tattoo.
Hanna went on to comment about how much she liked the mock battle rescue reenactment put on by the British forces.
There are highland games in a few weeks, and I thought that I would have to attend alone, but I am pretty sure that I may have at least one person willing / wanting to attend with me.
" I will see Edinburgh through anothers eyes " and those eyes will twinkle and sparkle as they recount those weeks in Edinburgh.

I am delighted that your daughter enjoyed herself at the Tattoo. The Lone Piper, for me too, is always rather special.

Sounds like all the effort to get her there was well worth it.

Rex.
