I just want to kilt casual

That's what I mostly wear during the summer. I always wear sporran, because I don't own a kilt with pockets, but flashes and fancier jackets, vests etc. I leave for formal occasions.

If one's philosophy (remember I teach philosophy) about wearing a kilt is that it should be as adaptable as pants, then kilt on. I seldom wear flashes except when I'm very formally dressed and think of the kilt as a more respectful garment than shorts or cut-offs.
