I've had some rough weeks at work; so, I'm very much looking forward to this vacation at Long's Peak. I hope it gets good and chilly!

If the rest of this summer is any indication, it will be. We have been averaging mid 80's in the hottest part of the summer, so I imagine in 3 weeks, especially in the mountains, it will be getting chilly. I think we're in for a wild winter here. I love snow! BRING IT ON EL NINO!!

I wouldn't be surprised if we woke up to some "partly cloudies" on the ground that weekend. A few years ago we had about 6 inches of snow on the Friday night of the games. Be sure to bring your heaviest kilt.

Be careful what you wish for.

I don't have the funds this year to go, perhaps next year. It is a stunning place, and if your lucky, you can even stay at the hotel in the "Shining."
Remember, you will be at high altitude, so you will run out of breath fast, and get drunk faster. Drink more water than you think you need. Hike a 14er in your kilt. Easy one would be Grays. Or, you could cheat and drive up Evans or Pikes.
Have a Blast!

Ooops too late to change the order. The leaves have already started changing and fall is in the air. You might just get the mountain chill instead. Of course, that does make for more interesting piping challenges.

Sitting here looking at my tickets for the weekend. The Tattoo for Thursday evening, the Cletic Concert for Friday evening, the parking pass for Fri - Sun and the tickets for all three days too. Then there is the shirt for the festival sitting here. That will get some use before things start up. Looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Have a great time Livingstone, et al. Hopefully the wife and I will see you fine folks at next summer's games. Our son is now attending school out at Gunnison, so it would make a perfect time to trek out from Illinois to see him.
