Undiscovered Scotland says this about the Canal:
The Crinan Canal starts at Ardrishaig on Loch Fyne, and ends nine miles away at Crinan on the Sound of Jura. It was designed to provide a quick link between the west coast and islands at one end and the Clyde Estuary at the other, and so avoid the long voyage around the south end of the Kintyre Peninsula.

Across the loch we could easily see Duntrune. Crinan is a beautiful harborto see,







While we ate our lunch outside, we saw a elder kilted gentleman enter the restaurant. Moments later a young man went by carrying a kilt on a hanger.
He questioned him and found out that the MacMillan Clan was having their Annual General Meeting nearby and opening their meeting at the Macmillan Cross in Kilmory Knap Chapel.

I remember our time at Crinan when the Colmcille docked here. Chief Robin was expecting us in two more days and was to entertain the crew with lunch at the castle. But a storm had us a head of schedule. It was decided to push on missing the hospitality of the Chief Robin.

We encountered this fellow on a fence by the roadside. I took this photo from the car. Chris says he is here all the time; winter and summer.

We arrived at Duntrune Castle for the tour by Chief Robin.




We met in the courtyard of the castle. Chief Robin gave us a history of the castle.




We divided into two groups. The first group started its tour. I was in the second and it had been suggested to see the gardens.

It was time to go back to the castle.

When I arrived back, the first group had not appeared. My group was still at the Gardens. I took the opportunity to explore around the Castle.
