Kilt making apprenticeships?
I just had a brainstorm, or maybe a brain cloud, or just a plain old idea, but do any of our esteemed kilt makers do either a kilt making class or a kilt making apprenticeship?
Seems like a good way to introduce folks to the art; I can see reasons for not doing so; but over all it might be a way to add to the numbers of kilt makers and thus kilt wearers.....alwaysa good thing.ith:

It seems like about once a year or so Barbara Tewksbury and/or Elsie Stuehmeyer do a one week workshop in which you get to make your very own tank. Check out the 'Kiltmakers Forum' from time to time. For example, check out:

There are also some kiltmakers out there in the world who do have apprentices who "grow up" and go out into the world on their own eventually. I can highly recommend Bonnie Heather Green (aka Bonnie Heather here on the forum) as one who has done an apprenticeship with a woman named Ann Stewart (correct me if I am wrong Bonnie) and just recently went out on her own when Ann retired. Bonnie made a beautiful handsewn tank for me and I reviewed it here:

Another of Ann's apprentices I believe also recently joined the forum and was trying to start up her own business (I believe) after Ann retired, but I cannot remember her handle.
