Any tech savvy kilties, I need help with an unusual problem

I have an unusual problem. Starting on Friday, I could no longer access XMarks on my home network (any of my computers). I can access it on my laptop at various wi-fi spots. I have contacted my service provider (Comcast). Their tech support can access the site. I ma running vista on my laptop, and XP pro at home. Any ideas? What am I supposed to do without my XMarks addiction?

OK, first steps... can you ping it? Open a command prompt (start, run <enter "cmd" in the dialog box>)
Type "ping www.xmarksthescot.com" at the command prompt (without the quotes) and hit enter.

If you can, what IP address does it resolve to?
If not, try to ping 174.37.225.51

    Do either of those work?

If pinging the IP address works but pinging the URL does not, it could me a Domain Name Server (DNS) issue. Try running "nslookup" and see if it returns information.

If the DNS is causing problems, report it to Comcast and use the IP address in the meantime.

Are you using any filtering software that is blocking sites you don't want your children to access? Just a thought.

You might try loading Foxfire, Netscape or another web browser besides IE and see if you can still access it that way---then you would know it was a browser problem. I found some problems when my Vista got updated to IE8 a little while back that took a couple patches to fix.
