Why? Unlike the other locations around the States (Pinehurst, Pebble Beach, Hilton Head), EVERYTHING here is a homage to the Master's. The local minor league teams? Baseball - The Green Jackets (picture a yellow jacket with green instead of black); Defunct Hockey Team - Lynx (say it out-loud). Honestly, this city would die if two things happened. The Augusta National went out of business, and Ft Gordon gets closed (either of them aren't too likely). We could survive one or the other, but not both.

I lived there for quite some time. Graduated from Jenkins, although did 3 1/2 over at Beach. Dad teaches at Groves....looking for an inexpensive MacLeod of Lewis for him, actually. Dad's not a fan of the kilt for casual wear, but Mom will bring him around if I can get him one. Honestly, I had to leave Savannah to be able to be my own person. Down there I was always Duck's great nephew, AT's grandson, Carolyn's grandson, Hill's step-grandson, etc... (Baker, Shuman, Harty, Broadmann... sometimes one's family is a good thing, sometimes expectations can hurt). Still, I love that city. I guess that's why I moved only a few hours up river.
