Purely on the colour - I think that the hose are just too dark with a white shirt and that really nice tartan.
Lighter hose toning with the tartan would bring things more into balance, and if you chose green or blue green it would - just possibly - be an idea to wear all brown leather. The sporran would be fine, and I think a dark brown belt and shoes would simply be more in tune.
These are just suggestions for greater harmony rather than criticisms - that outfit is perfectly fine - it is just that you could tweek things a little and raise your game.

I always find a great tip is wear a leather sporran strap and plain sporran to avoid all the banging and clattering of the tassels. If its a quiet type of church you can get some angry looks if you are being noisy so to speak. Its amazing how loud you can sound in a hushed church. If its a easy going crowd just ignore me it depends on the congregation & priest.

Well, in my case it would be some good boots (I was in Mexico. No bikes and No cars.)
Thanks for the suggestion Ali. Can I tell you all how much I HATE long sleeve? It drives me crazy. However, I will give it a shot.

Split the difference, go with a short sleeve blue shirt. Long sleeve right now would be uncomfortable.

As always, winnow the advice to suite yourself.
The kilt is either too long and/or the hose worn too high. Other than that, it is fine just the way it is.
About the only thing I would say is that I dress more formally to church than do 90+ per cent of rest of the men in the parish. I was just brought up that way. So I never wear my kilt to church unless I have the Crail jacket or Braemer on (winter only)

yes, but you will look exponentially better in long sleeves, so it should be worth the extra pain We women sacrifice for fashion all of the time, you get used to it
(you're a good sport Brice, I like to tease)
