What's the problem with the 5th floor, AE? It's just a typical scenario in NYC.

Yeah, so much to do here, that one lifetime isn't enough.
And climbing 5 flights of stairs regularly keeps one fit for doing it.

I have been to New York City. It was stinky, noisy, filthy and crowded. The people were rude not just to visitors but to each other. Weird.
I hope I never have to go back.

Yeah, one of the problems of city life is that we have to put up with having just anyone be here.

Epilogue
Here's a link to an article about The Gathering. Looks like there is to be another in 2013!
Here's a link to the short video taken by a Virginia news reporter.

The Capital Scott enews letter this weekend shared this article from Scottie at Rampant Scotland which has The Gathering March of the Clans Photo Library and Scottie's Diary - The Gathering 2009. Enjoy!
From Scottie at Rampant Scotland - one of the largest directories of Scottish links
Hi!
As promised, I've created a "Photo Library" from my 180 graphics of over 100 of the clans that participated in the Clan Parade on the evening of 25 July. The clans marched from the Palace of holyroodhouse up the royal Mile to Edinburgh Castle. Around 8,000 marchers from over 125 clans, interspersed by seven pipe bands took part.
The Photo Library consists of six pages of thumbnails leading to the individual graphics. In some cases there's more than one picture of some of the clans - made possible because the parade kept grinding to a halt on a number of occasions!
You'll probably want to go to the pictures of the clans in which you have an interest, but if you want to take the "grand tour" each page is linked to the next.
Feel free to use any of the graphics on any non-commercial Web site (just right click on the graphic and click on "save picture as" (in IE) or "save image as" (in Firefox). If you need a larger version or with greater pixels per inch (for better print quality), drop an email to me.
If you use any of the graphics an acknowledgement of Rampant Scotland as the source would be helpful.
The Photo Library starts at http://www.rampantscotland.com/gathering/index.htm. If you missed the earlier Diary page on the Gathering it's still at http://www.rampantscotland.com/diary..._gathering.htm
Yours aye
Scottie

Thanks for the excellent links, Ern. The latest I've heard on the rumour mill is they are looking at doing the next one in 2014, to co-incide with the 700th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn and the Commonwealth Games being held in Glasgow.

THE QUEEN in PARKHEAD.
I believe that was once a joke and now it'll be a reality!
It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom -- for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself.
