Day 13 – French Alps Hiking
The next morning, after breakfast, Robert took me for Alpine hike through the mountains. He let me pick out my hiking stick. Each year, the family hike into the mountains to find themselves a Christmas tree. After Christmas, Robert saves the tree and whittles it down for a hiking stick.
Robert is wearing the Robertson Hunting tartan and mine is the Robertson Red. I so wish I had wore this kilt yesterday, as then Robert and I would be both wearing the Robbie Red. As it turned out wearing it today, it upset Evangeline, the youngest daughter wanting to know why the "Monsieur was wearing Papa's kilt."
We were accompanied by Robert’s Border Collie, Ripaille, pronounced ‘re-pie”.
You wear it well!

Day 13 – Lady Chrystel the Kilt maker of the Double Box Pleat
Lady Chrystel at her sewing table making a pair of flashes to finish Sir William’s Double Box Pleat kilt.
Robert inspects the kilt.

Robert as desk checking out XMarks!
As Robert and Chrystel prepared a ‘light’ lunch, I check checked out the forum. My first in 13 days! My wife would be shocked! After a light lunch of an assortment of a dozen cheeses and the same number of cold cuts, French bread, salad, and wine; Robert and I reviewed tweed tartan swatches. Life just doesn’t get any better! A brief nap and then off on another Alpine adventure. Don’t go away!

The scenery in the French Alps is wonderful! I have told Robert many times that he is a lucky man to live in this piece of heaven.
Thanks once again Mael for taking us along on your journey
