I have the best wife ever!

The other night at work I noticed that Burnett's and Struth had added the Malcolm tartan to their casual kilt sale. I nearly ordered one on the spot, but I held back. The next day, I mentioned to my lovely wife that she should be proud of my restraint. When she heard that it was the Malcolm tartan, she immediately said, "Order it! Consider it your birthday present."

So, today I called the charming and helpful Margaret at Burnett's and Struth and ordered my casual Malcolm kilt! I am so excited to finally have a kilt in my family tartan that I can actually afford. Margaret told me it would only be 2 to 3 weeks, so I should have a short jones.

I don't know how you folks wait months for your kilts. I can hardly stand the few weeks I've got.

I am very fortunate also in that I have a wife who encourages me in everything I do.

She has the greater dose of Scots in her ancestry than I do, so when we got together it was natural that we get involved in the culture. When I made my first kilt, it was in the Farquhar Shaw Modern, out of repsect for her and her family

I had always wanted to learn to be a piper, but never got the chance, nor encouragement until after we got together. She supports me in my sewing ventures. I make a lot of clothes for her, as well as for myself and others.

I made this outfit for her several years ago as well as other things.

When I was President of the local Scottish American Society, she was my advisor, my strength and much of my inspiration.

I sense a "Chicago" song coming on.......
